# Tribe Protocols
## Metaresource Protocols
I will share with you a concept I developed called [[The 3-dimensionality of Life, A Theory of Metaresources|Metaresources]], which addresses survival on a deeper, more fundamental level. Metaresource theory deals with essential aspects of existence like Activity, Knowledge, and Discourse. Within this framework, three metaresources—Vision, Trust, and Attention—play a critical role. Their efficient management is paramount in determining outcomes on a grand narrative level in the Frontier. I propose the development of three protocols designed for their optimal management: the _Crowd Sourcing Protocol_, the _Knowledge Distribution Protocol_, and the _Social Discourse Protocol_. These protocols aim to foster alignment, channel knowledge, and promote high-quality decision-making, with far-reaching benefits.
### 1. **Crowd Sourcing Protocol (Drawing from Mechanics)**
The **Crowd Sourcing Protocol** is designed to harness the collective potential of players within the community, enabling collaborative efforts toward shared goals. Inspired by physics, this protocol models projects as vectors that can be initiated, supported, and collectively managed by contributors.
#### Key Elements:
1. **Initiation of Vectors**: Players (initiators) can propose new projects or initiatives—referred to as ==vectors==—targeting specific objectives, such as research, business ventures, or community improvements. These vectors serve as the foundational building blocks for collaborative endeavors in the frontier.
2. **Contributors as Potentials**: Contributors who choose to support a vector act as **potentials**, each adding their resources—be it knowledge, funding, or materials. As these contributions accumulate, they generate the necessary force to propel the vector forward, reflecting the physical concept of potential energy being transformed into kinetic energy.
3. **Discharge Mechanism**: Once a vector reaches its predetermined thresholds (such as funding goals or resource availability), a discharge phase initiates. The initiator can submit motions—detailed plans or requests—for actions to the contributors. These motions may include project milestones, resource allocations, or community engagement strategies, thus activating the contributors as forces that either back or oppose these motions.
4. **Dynamic Interaction**: The protocol allows for real-time interactions among players, enabling them to adjust their support based on project developments and feedback. This dynamic nature mirrors the interactions within physical systems, where forces can shift and change direction based on the surrounding conditions.
5. **Outcome Measurement**: To assess the success of the crowd-sourced projects, the protocol includes metrics that evaluate contributions, milestones achieved, and the overall impact of the vector. This assessment serves not only as feedback for future initiatives but also as a means to refine the project management process within the community.
6. **Community Impact**: The culmination of the crowd-sourcing efforts leads to tangible outcomes, fostering a sense of achievement among participants. As successful vectors contribute to the collective knowledge and resource pool of the community, they reinforce the bonds among players and encourage future collaboration.
In essence, the **Crowd Sourcing Protocol** transforms the concept of collaboration into a structured and dynamic process, where players can collectively influence the trajectory of initiatives in the frontier. By modeling these interactions through a physics-inspired lens, the protocol promotes resource allocation, community engagement, and a shared vision of progress in the ever-evolving landscape of space exploration and development.
### 2. **Knowledge Distribution Protocol (Drawing from Thermodynamics)**
A **thermodynamic model** can help in understanding the flow and distribution of knowledge. In this system, knowledge can be seen as **entropy**: when it is low, there is order and structure (concentrated in a few individuals or isolated areas). When knowledge is high, it is more distributed and accessible.
- **Knowledge Transfer as Heat Flow**: Just as heat flows from a hot object to a cold object until thermal equilibrium is reached, knowledge could be envisioned as flowing from "hotspots" (experienced players, critical sources) to "cooler" areas (newcomers, untapped spaces). This flow would increase the overall knowledge base, gradually equalizing the environment.
- **Efficiency through Carnot Cycles**: In thermodynamic systems, heat engines operate on cycles, where efficiency is determined by the temperature differential. Similarly, a cycle-based knowledge distribution system could optimize the movement of knowledge. Experts (the hot sources) release knowledge in structured bursts (like thermodynamic cycles), and newcomers gradually absorb this "heat."
- **NFTs as Ordered States**: The NFT mechanism already in place for knowledge distribution can be seen as a way to lock in knowledge into discrete, ordered "quanta." This would ensure that the knowledge is not only passed on but retained in a structured manner. Much like how molecules in a lower entropy state retain more energy, an NFT locks the knowledge in place for future use.
### 3. **Social Discourse Protocol (Drawing from Field Theory)**
For the **social discourse** aspect, an **electromagnetic field model** can represent how ideas and discussions propagate through the community.
- **Discourse as Electromagnetic Wazves**: In this model, **ideas** and **ideologies** are like wavefronts traveling through the medium (the player base). Certain players act as sources or **oscillators**, generating waves (discussions). The collective response to a particular discourse is analogous to **resonance** in a system—where certain topics gain more traction and propagate more strongly.
- **Focus Points as Magnetic Fields**: Magnetic fields organize the motion of charged particles; similarly, the discourse protocol could use "fields" of influence to focus attention and energy toward specific topics. These fields could be established through game mechanics or emergent behaviors, drawing attention to key areas where players want to make an impact.
- **Polarization and Frequency Tuning**: Different players or groups could be seen as **polarized** in various ideological directions, filtering or amplifying parts of the discourse based on their alignment. The game would naturally tune these interactions by having specific platforms or mechanics that facilitate players aligning with specific "frequencies" or ideas.
### General Implementation Considerations
- **Field Coupling**: In physics, when two fields interact, their energies can either amplify each other or cancel out. In your protocols, interaction between different initiatives or tribes could follow this principle. Collaborations could strengthen a cause (constructive interference), while opposing forces cancel out (destructive interference). This model would help in determining how initiatives and discourses either grow or fizzle out.
- **Resource Balancing as a Constrained System**: In all protocols, resources like attention, trust, and vision could be treated as conserved quantities—like mass or energy in a closed system. Players only have a finite amount of each, and their decisions on where to allocate these resources (to a vector, to knowledge acquisition, or discourse participation) would drive the dynamics of the frontier community. This also means that competition for resources would be built into the system, shaping how players engage and evolve.
